Practicing Gratitude For Mindful Eating: A Tip For Busy Women
Hi!
I'm Master Trainer Charlie!
Welcome to my corner of the internet, where we’re all about helping The Busy Woman live a more fit and healthy lifestyle!
If you didn’t already know, here at F3, we believe in realistic eating that aligns with your busy schedule versus a strict diet approach, which can leave you feeling constrained regarding your meals. Because of this, let's continue our discussion on mindful eating and how it can be an excellent tool for achieving your fitness and health goals. You can check out my previous post on food journaling regarding mindful eating here, my previous post on rating your hunger here, and the same on removing distractions here.
Let's discuss our topic this week, which is the last step of mindful eating. In case you didn't know, mindful eating is more about how we approach the eating experience and less about restrictive eating.
At F3, we believe more in positive and healthy habits that are realistic and easy to implement into your busy life and less in restrictive eating, which is excellent for the women who purchase our products! Because nutrition plays a vital role in fitness and health, the eating experience helps us achieve our fitness/healthier lifestyle goals AND stick with them over the long term. Constant restriction or yo-yo dieting doesn’t do this and can, in fact, sabotage our effects when it comes to long-term goals.
So, after food journaling, rating our hunger, and removing distractions when we eat, let's talk about gratitude.
Anyone and everyone can apply gratitude and appreciation to all aspects of life, including the food we eat.
Gratitude and appreciation go a long way towards helping us achieve our goals because practicing gratitude can help ease stress and anxiety, help reduce depression, enhance sleep quality, and even improve relationships.
We can practice gratitude when it comes to eating by thinking about where our food came from and refusing to take for granted the people and steps it took for our food to land on our plates.
We can appreciate our food and be thankful for the nourishment it provides our bodies.
We can also give thanks for our friends & family and the mealtimes we share with them.
Practicing gratitude daily makes us happier and helps us develop positive and lasting healthy eating habits. In turn, this helps with mindful eating.
So, follow the steps we've discussed regarding mindful eating. They can help you achieve better results in the long term and create positive, healthy habits that complement your healthier, more nutritious lifestyle.
Stay tuned for more tips that can help you live a healthier lifestyle.
