Start Food Journaling Today For Mindful Eating: An Easy Tip For The Busy Woman
Hi!
I'm Master Trainer Charlie!
You've come to the right place if you want to be somewhere that's all about helping The Busy Woman live a more fit and healthy lifestyle!
Let's discuss mindful eating and how it can be a great tool for achieving your fitness and health goals.
Because I've been there.
I used to think that eating or not eating, if I had any fitness or health goals, was as simple as "mind over matter." Or, like my former Drill Instructor used to tell us, "If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."
Mindful eating is more than having the willpower not to eat certain foods.
It's more than practicing a "mind over matter" mentality.
In fact, mindful eating has very little to do with thinking about the calories in our food or whether we should eat that piece of cake we've been eyeing and more to do with the actual eating experience.
Because the eating experience helps us achieve our fitness/healthier lifestyle goals.
Mindful eating consists of a few elements to help you achieve your goals, and in this blog post, we’re going to discuss food journaling, its relationship to mindful eating, and how it can help you achieve your goals.
Success starts with intention. So, I recommend that you be intentional about achieving your fitness and health goals by taking the time to gain clarity on your eating habits. That’s why I recommend spending one whole week on food journaling to help you better understand your habits regarding food and eating better.
You can do this by writing down every meal, snack, drink you consume and the emotions you felt before reaching for your food/drink/snack. You don't need a special notebook for this. You can use a simple notepad or, if you prefer, your phone's notes app.
And don't worry—I'm not recommending you practice food journaling forever. It's usually not a long-term practice unless you're contest prepping or have medical reasons.
But it is an excellent tool for helping us better understand how we relate to food and eating. This can help us achieve better results in the long term and create positive, healthy habits that complement our more nutritious lifestyle.
The great news is that it's never too late to start creating realistically positive and healthy habits to achieve your goals. To start, grab your copy of the F3 Lifestyle Guide: Create Positive & Healthy Habits AND Stick With Them here.
